Neighbours’ cast admit that they STILL have ‘no idea’ which iconic characters are set to return

And while the revamped series Neighbors is only days away from the start of filming, the cast admitted they still have “no idea” what they’ll be filming, or with whom.

Speaking this week, longtime cast member Alan Fletcher teased that while they know the first story will be “huge” it’s even being kept a secret from himself and his fellow actors.

“It’s a big story and it’s going to involve a lot of people, but we don’t know anything about it,” admitted the star, who plays Karl Kennedy on the show.

Alan is among the confirmed cast members for the show, with Annie Jones and Ryan Moloney also guaranteed to return, among others.

But as I spoke this week with Sunthe actors admitted that they are not quite sure what they will do again.

The cast is still eagerly awaiting their first script with anticipation, having no idea what’s in store for their characters.

Annie, who plays Jane Harris, shared the story: ‘Who knows? Maybe Jane will be heartbroken, maybe I’ll only be on the show for a couple of weeks and go with Mike. We’ve seen a script cover, that’s all.

While Alan assured that the writers have said that the return will be “huge”, but that it is completely “under wraps”.

“It’s a big story and it will involve a lot of people, but we don’t know anything about it. There will come a day when your inbox will ping and say first script. Everyone will read it and the Whatsapp group will go crazy,” he shared.

Ryan added that it won’t be until the cast is in a meeting that they’ll know who’s back, explaining, “We’re going to have a big Zoom meeting, and in that meeting we’re going to see people.” faces appear on the screen and we’re going to say, “Oh my gosh, that person is back.” We don’t know who they have. Fans will no doubt be eager to see who returns as well after the finale welcomed some old – and now very famous – faces.

The soap is known for giving Australian actors a step up in acting, with a host of A-list stars owing their beginnings to the soap.

And paying tribute to that, stars like Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Margot Robbie and Guy Pearce returned in style for the show’s finale on Channel 5.

But since it’s been revamped, fans will be eager to see if the hermetic bosses have managed to secure the big names for more cameos.

The original series was canceled in March 2022 after 37 years, only to announce its revival in November.

When the announcement was made, it was also revealed that only four cast members had been told before the announcement: Alan, Ryan, Stefan Dennis, and Jackie Woodburne.

But this week, it was confirmed that Annie would reprise her role alongside Tim Kano, Georgie Stone and Rebekah Elmaloglou.

The series will stream for free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US and will include streaming rights to thousands of episodes from previous seasons. The series will stream on Prime Video in Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.
