Neighbour leaves furious 94-word rant on windscreen of ‘selfish’ driver’s car parked on road outside their house

An angry neighbor left an anonymous 94-word rant on the windscreen of a ‘selfish driver’ car parked outside his home.

The irate resident from Frecheville, Sheffield, expressed his anger in the note after spotting a car they believe had been abandoned by a commuter.

However, the incident has divided residents, with one even claiming the owner lives on the street and has parked in the same spot.

In the note, the resident claims that he can no longer park in his own street because of the car, and he labels the unknown driver as ‘cheap’ and environmentally unfriendly.

The note begins in red capital letters: ‘I am a selfish commuter who has difficulty parking on your street and takes up too much space because I cannot park.’

However, the incident has divided residents. Tracey Ledger said: “I agree, for those who live on that road where they have to fight for parking, there can’t be anything worse. I know some will say this isn’t their problem, but not everyone has a drive-in garage.”

It then continues in black writing: ‘I park here every day and then walk to work somewhere else, probably because I’m too cheap to park or to be sensible and environmentally conscious and take the bus.

“I do this and park, it takes up so much space that you can’t park here, and I don’t care because I’m a single commuter in a car and I don’t care that now you can’t park on your Private road.’

A photo of the note was shared on social media last week by the Sheffield Online Community, asking locals in the South Yorkshire town for their views.

The post received hundreds of likes and comments, but reactions were divided on how wrong the parked motorist was.

Brin Staniforth wrote, “I’d go so far as to buy a cheap car, tax it and make it barely drivable, and park it there, and let it sit for a few years .’

Tracey Ledger said: “I agree with this, for those who live on that road where they have to fight for parking, there can’t be anything worse.

“I know some will say this isn’t their problem, but not everyone has a drive-thru garage.

‘I’m guilty of owning more than one car and I’m guilty of parking miles away and walking into Sheffield for hospital appointments, but it’s made me think about where I’ll park in the future. I’m a taxpayer, but honest.’

Karen Lamb commented: “I wonder if the driver of this vehicle reported the person who put the sign on his windshield?

‘Criminal damage, so to speak. Assuming that person has the balls to admit it, of course?’

In a similar situation last year, a war of words broke out in a Derbyshire neighborhood after an exchange of angry messages on cars lined up above a car park.

In December last year, a letter war broke out in Glossop, Derbyshire, after a mysterious car owner delivered an angry letter to every neighbor on his street in response to a note asking them ‘not to park on the lawn’.

The angry two-page handwritten letter was in response to a letter left in their car which said: ‘Please do not park on the grass edge’ as it would look ‘ugly’.

However, there turned out to be a ‘triggered’ motorist who then photocopied this note and added their own angry response, which they then sent to the entire row of neighbors.

It was demanded that the perpetrator ‘never put anything’ on their new car because it was ‘private property’ – before declaring they could ‘park wherever they want’ while paying their road tax.
