One woman has claimed that her overly friendly neighbor had placed a trampoline in her yard so she could see over their fence – which her family had installed for privacy.
Share the story on mumsnetthe anonymous mother said there was initially a “low hedge” separating her garden from that of her chatty neighbor.
But shortly after, the family decided to install a 6-foot fence, telling their neighbor it was because they were thinking of getting a dog.
The woman’s husband then planted bamboo near the fence, creating a barrier of about 2 meters between the two properties.
However, the woman said her neighbor has since jumped on a trampoline to look over the fence – but only when her family is in their yard.

She said they initially thought the trampoline was for her neighbor’s child, but “they don’t use it, they do.”
“When I was in the garden a few weeks ago, she jumped over the top of the bamboo, laughing hysterically and screaming ‘Look where I had to take refuge! hahaha!’,” the message read.
‘I said something along the lines of ‘oh yeah haha, is that a trampoline for X?’ and she said it was original but he wasn’t interested so she’s going to use it for practice instead.
“Until now, all her exercises have coincided with us in the garden.”
The anonymous mother shared the story on Mumsnet on Tuesday, saying there had initially been a ‘low hedge’ separating her garden from that of her chatty neighbor.
The anonymous poster, believed to be from the UK, said that when she is in the garden, her neighbor “appears above the bamboo, laughing and screaming”.
Those in the comments were quick to share their disbelief, with some suggesting that the woman talk candidly with her neighbor about the awkward situation.
Others said the mother should just put on headphones and ignore her.
One user said, ‘Use your words. Tell her plainly that if you are in your garden you are not looking for a conversation, that if you want one you will invite her, otherwise leave you alone.

‘That’s how we dealt with our annoying ex-neighbors who kept letting us be bothered by their child.
“Sure, they got it and said there was no need to be rude, but they understood.”
Another agreed, saying, “You have to be blunt with these kinds of stubborn people. It’s the only way to get it across.’
Another added: ‘Every time you’re in the garden put on headphones and ignore her because you can’t hear her. She’ll give up.’
One commenter said their mother had been through a similar situation.
They said, “I think maybe she’s just lonely, but it’s annoying when you try to relax in the garden and have to talk to a neighbor instead.”
