Three neighbors who live on a busy road in South Wales have written off 19 vehicles over the past 10 years because they say drivers keep bumping into them.
James Crowley and his family lost 10 cars while living on Chepstow Road in Newport, while neighbor Andrew Griffiths and his family reported seven vehicles destroyed.
A third neighbor, Gerald Carter, 89, lost two cars, including one that almost ended up in his living room. Wales Online reports this.
On Sunday evening, Mr Crowley’s and Mr Griffiths’ cars were hit again in a collision – and they have increasingly called on local authorities to take traffic control measures.
All three neighbors have expressed frustration at their council’s lack of action over speeding cars on a section of road near the Man of Gwent pub.
Newport, South Wales resident Andrew Griffiths said: ‘It’s incredible. We’ve lost seven cars in the last ten years. We lose every time, it always costs us more money’

Mr Griffiths said: ‘It’s unbelievable. We’ve lost seven cars in the last ten years. We lose every time, it always costs us more money. Our insurance goes up, even if it’s not a fault claim. We are working-class families and have worked all our lives. We try to get the most suitable car for us at the price we can afford, but each time it costs us more money.
“We need some kind of traffic between our houses and the Man of Gwent pub – be it corrugated lanes or a median for example – something to warn motorists.”
The father-of-two said motorists often ‘fall asleep’ as they come off the M4 at the Colda junction before crashing into cars on the residential street.
Mr Carter also expressed fears there could be a ‘death’ on the road before any immediate action is taken to calm traffic.

As a result of the crashes, Mr Crowley said his insurance has gone up and he estimates he has lost £3,000 every time one of his cars has crashed.
Mr Crowley added: ‘I’m increasingly worried about someone getting hit rather than a car. We’ve had everything, but it’s mostly people who fall asleep behind the wheel.’
The trio will attend a residents’ meeting on Friday with local councilors and Welsh Senedd member John Griffiths.
The Newport City Council has been approached for comment.
