Need some German lessons, Harry? England skipper realizes he needs to learn the lingo as he watches helplessly as his teammates’ heated penalty debate with the referee on his Bayern debut

Harry Kane’s Bayern Munich debut didn’t go to plan as his new side crashed to a 3-0 defeat to RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup.

The England captain only completed his £100 million transfer to Bundesliga giants Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday morning, but was named off the bench by Thomas Tuchel just hours later.

Bayern were already 2-0 down by the time Kane took the field, and they were eventually put to the sword by a hat-trick from Dani Olmo.

Spanish midfielder Olmo completed his treble with a penalty after Bayern defender Noussair Mazraoui was penalized for handball.

A number of Bayern players protested to referee Bastian Dankert against the decision, including Kane.

But as Mazraoui and Bayern captain Joshua Kimmich made their case for Dankert, Kane seemed to realize his German skills weren’t quite up to par.

After initially appearing to protest his teammate’s innocence, the England captain quickly changed his mind and fell silent before covering his mouth.

With Kane only arriving in Germany last night as part of his whirlwind transfer, he can be forgiven for not quite settling into his new surroundings.

Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel could hardly hide his delight at the capture of his new signing ahead of kick-off, and Kane and his new team-mates will no doubt be looking to recover in their Bundesliga opener against Werder Bremen on Friday 18 August.

The England captain received a warm welcome from Bayern fans ahead of kick-off as he entered the Allianz Arena for the first time since his £100 million transfer.

During the preparation for the match, Kane’s name was announced through the tannoy in the stadium and was met by a chorus of cheers from the Bayern fans.

The moment was captured on video and posted on Twitter shortly afterwards, while the England captain was doing warm-up exercises on the pitch.

Bayern official Twitter account also posted a clip of Kane walking onto the field of the Allianz Arena for the first time, as fans whistle and cheer his arrival.

On Saturday, the England striker released an emotional farewell video to the club and fans, insisting they should hear the move to Bayern from himself first.

In the message, Kane insisted: “I wanted to be the first to tell you Tottenham fans that I am leaving the club today.

However, it was a debut to forget for the England captain, who was unable to avoid defeat

“Of course I have a lot of emotions running through me right now; sad to leave the club where I spent almost 20 years of my life, from an 11 year old boy to a 30 year old man now.

“There have been so many beautiful moments and special memories, memories that I will cherish forever. I felt it was time to leave. I didn’t want to go into the season with a lot of unresolved future conversations.

“I think it’s important for the new manager and the players to focus on trying to get Tottenham back to the top of the table and fighting for trophies, so I wish Ange (Postecoglou) and all the guys all the best .

“I’m now looking from a fan’s point of view and really hope the team can be successful.”
