Nebraska volleyball star Harper Murray is reportedly facing a slew of charges after she was found to be driving while under the influence of alcohol.

The 6-foot-1 business and law major — who was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year for 2023 — is part of the record-breaking Cornhuskers team.

But according to reportsMurray has now been cited and released for first offense DUI, careless driving, underage possession, possession of a fake ID and obstructing a peace officer.

She was reportedly stopped by police early Friday morning after officers spotted an Audi SUV flouting traffic rules.

Police checked the vehicle and found Murray – the 2022-2023 Gatorade National Player of the Year – behind the wheel.

The officers suspected she was under the influence of alcohol and ordered Murray to take a breath test.

It showed her blood alcohol level was 0.169 – more than twice the legal limit – while police also reportedly found a fake ID on Murray.

It remains to be seen what impact the potential charges will have on Murray’s volleyball career.

A school statement read: “The Nebraska Athletic Department is aware of the incident. We are awaiting further information and have no additional comment at this time.”

The 19-year-old has won a host of accolades since joining the Cornhuskers. She was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week three times in the 2023 season before being named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team.

Murray was also selected to the All Big Ten First Team and she was recently named to the 2024 US Women’s U21 National Team roster.
