Marseille striker Neal Maupay was sent off after receiving two yellow cards in three minutes during his side’s 1-1 draw with Angers.
Maupay, who is on loan from Everton to Marseille and the French club have an obligation to buy him at the end of the deal, was initially cautioned in the 27th minute for bringing down Angers goalkeeper Yahia Fofana.
Just three minutes later he was sent off after receiving another yellow card for a late challenge on midfielder Jean-Eudes Aholou.
Maupay was seen laughing as the referee waved the red card.
Englishman Jonathan Rowe, on loan from Norwich, put Marseille ahead in the 51st minute, while Farid El Melali equalized for Angers three minutes later.
