NBL player Harry Froling has been released from hospital and is now recovering at home after a dastardly punch left him with a fractured skull and a massive surgical scar.

Her father, Shane, shared the positive development on social media on Monday, thanking supporters for the ‘care and love sent’.

Froling, 24, suffered a brain haemorrhage after the shocking incident outside a popular Wollongong nightclub last month.

The Brisbane Bullets center was found unconscious on a sidewalk in the early morning of January 22 after playing a game against the Illawarra Hawks the night before.

Hospital scans revealed that his brain injuries would require major surgery.

“Harrison Froling is out of the hospital and recovering,” his father posted on Twitter with a confrontational photo of his son’s large scar.

Brisbane Bullets center Harry Froling was found unconscious on a sidewalk in the early hours of January 22 after a shocking attack outside a Wollongong nightclub.

“As much as we would love to address the media and questions, we will leave it until the police evidence is presented. He is recovering, thanks for the care and love sent.

Nathan Messinez, 19, is the man police say was behind the punching attack.

He has since been charged with one count of reckless felony bodily harm and a brawl, but was released on bail on January 25.

Mesinez, who has yet to enter formal statements, will face the Wollongong Local Court later this month.

Brisbane Bullets head coach Greg Vanderjagt said the club will look into the incident internally once police investigations have been completed.

Vanderjagt said that Froling and his family had the full support of the club and will review the circumstances at the appropriate time.

“The club will carry out its own investigation when the time is right, put everything together and take the appropriate course of action,” he told reporters last month.

Froling made a statement on Twitter thanking family and friends for their support.

Froling has been ruled out for the remainder of the NBL season following the attack.

Froling previously made a statement on social media thanking friends and family for their support.

‘I appreciate all messages regarding my circumstances. It’s a scary thing, and I appreciate the love and support. Especially from my teammates, former coaches and family,’ he wrote on Twitter on January 26.

A number of current and former NBL players, coaches and teammates responded with their best wishes for Froling, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the NBL season.
