NBC’s Hallie Jackson receives brutal reviews of her Kamala Harris interview
NBC’s Hallie Jackson faced a barrage of backlash Tuesday for her questioning during an interview with Kamala Harris.
Jackson pressed the vice president on a range of controversial issues, including her weak defense of transgender rights and whether she would pardon former President Donald Trump.
“If you win and he is convicted, would you consider a pardon for former President Trump?” Jackson asked the 2024 candidate.
Harris repeatedly shut down the question and did not appear to take it seriously.
“I’m not going to go into those hypotheses,” she replied. “I’m concentrating on the next fortnight.”
Kamala Harris joined NBC News host Hallie Jackson for an interview that aired Tuesday night — with just 14 days until the 2024 election
The anchor pressed Harris, claiming that there are some who argue that a pardon could unite the country and “help us move forward.”
Harris responded, “Let me tell you what will move us forward – I’m going to be elected president of the United States.”
“Hallie Jackson, where do you start and where do you stop asking a question about grace?!!! How about accountability first!’ posted to user on
“Besides, do you really think that pardon will ‘heal’ the nation?” they added.
Another wrote: ‘OMG what a horrible interview conducted by Hallie Jackson. Seriously, you call yourself a reporter. To ask that a CONVICTED criminal be pardoned for the purpose of bringing this country closer together. Seriously WTF is going on with you. you are not a serious reporter.”
The user added a hashtag calling on NBC to fire Jackson.
Social media erupted with criticism over Hallie Jackson’s questioning of Harris, claiming it was ‘flawed’ to ask whether the vice president would consider a pardon for former President Donald Trump
“Hallie Jackson asks Kamala Harris if she will pardon Trumpf (sic). Shouldn’t these ‘journalists’ be wearing MAGA hats right now?” another posted on X – even though Jackson works for a left-leaning network.
Another said Jackosn’s interview questions were fundamentally “flawed,” pointing specifically to the pardon question and another to whether the country is ready for a black female president.
There are only fourteen days left until the 2024 presidential elections.
Harris and Trump are putting full pressure on campaign events and interviews to convince voters that they will save the country.
