NBC star who Trump once called a ”son of a b***h’ is reportedly ‘asking other networks to hire him’

NBC chief political analyst and former Meet the Press host Chuck Todd is reportedly leaving the network and looking for other jobs.

Todd, 52, plans to leave NBC when his contract expires this year and has discussed new roles with other news sources, reported Semafor.

“Todd has been quietly meeting with media organizations in Washington about his post-NBC future,” the news platform said.

“The former Meet the Press host has told top editors and leaders of other media organizations that he plans to leave NBC when his contract expires this year, and has discussed potential roles outside the network in both broadcast and digital media. ‘

Todd hosted the network’s Sunday program from 2014 through 2023, after which he left the show to focus on long-term projects and his family.

During his tenure at the helm of Meet The Press, Todd frequently clashed with newly elected President Donald Trump.

Trump regularly referred to Todd as “Sleepy Eyes” on social media and dubbed the show “Meet the Depressive.”

In 2020, Trump called for Todd’s firing, complaining that “Meet the Press” had done a “sleazy hit job” against Attorney General William Barr.

Trump let loose after the program admitted he “accidentally cut off an audio clip of Barr” while responding to a question about the dismissal of charges against former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

‘He should be FIRED by Concast. If it is done by a Republican, it would “be prosecuted,” Trump said on X.

At a campaign rally near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 2018, Trump called Todd a “son of ab***h.”

Trump dubbed the show “Meet the Depressed” after Todd accused loyalist Senator John Kennedy of “spreading Vladimir Putin’s lies” during a heated on-air clash in 2019.

“Thank you to Great Republican @SenJohnKennedy for the job he did representing both the Republican Party and myself against Sleepy Eyes Chuck Todd in Meet the Depressive!” the president tweeted.

Todd was also among the NBC staffers outraged by the hiring of former RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel in March.

The liberal station stunned D.C. insiders when it announced the combative Republican would join its roster of election-year commentators.

Todd told his successor Kristen Welker that their bosses had put her in an “impossible situation” and that they would regret the decision.

“Let me just deal with the elephant in the room,” Todd said. “I think our bosses owe you an apology for putting you in this situation because I don’t know what to believe.

“When NBC made the decision to bring her in, what did she bring to NBC News? And when we do these kinds of deals, and I’ve been at this company for a long time, you do it to gain access. Access to the public, sometimes it’s access to an individual.

“This is a Washington operative who I don’t think is going to bring to the network what they think they want to bring to the network. I understand the motivation, but this performance was poor in my opinion.”
