Ahead of the latest installment in the Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift saga, NBC decided to bring in one of its own reality TV shows to help Swifties just getting into the sport.
In a pre-game tease, The Voice host Carson Daly was brought in to explain the situation surrounding the game to a legion of fans who may not all be fully aware of the backstory of this match.
“We got a call from our friends at NBC Sports asking us to put tonight’s story in a language that the legions of Swifties would understand,” Daly explained.
They then launched a video chock-full of references to Swift’s songs throughout the singer’s long career.
This all came when Swift was spotted in a luxury box surrounded by many of her famous fans to watch Kelce’s Chiefs play the New York Jets.
The Voice host Carson Daly starred in a tease before the start of Sunday Night Football
The tease helped explain the backstory of this Chiefs-Jets game for Taylor Swift fans who may not have been aware of it when Swift saw her new boyfriend Travis Kelce play at MetLife Stadium
The video featured fast songs like ‘Shake It Off’, ‘Fearless’ and ‘Wildest Dreams’
‘This man. Travis Kelce. He plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, who are basically the next Great American Dynasty in the NFL,” the video began.
“On the other side, it’s these guys, the New York Jets. They left an empty space after losing their star quarterback.
“Sure, they’re going to try to shake it off, but against the defending Super Bowl champs, that’s probably not likely to happen. Maybe only in their wildest dreams.
“The facts are that the Chiefs have a fearless, magical mastermind who likes to throw the ball to someone with a lot of style. So Swifties, this is Sunday night football.
‘We really hope that something enchanting gives you this feeling tonight. (Insert video that looks like Swift and Kelce looking at each other) Chiefs, Jets. Welcome to New York, everyone.”
