NBA: Steph Curry and Joel Embiid both fined $25,000

NBA stars Joel Embiid and Steph Curry were fined $25,000 for their on-court actions this week.

Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers, who was snubbed by the East’s All-Star starters on Thursday, was fired for an obscene gesture while celebrating his team’s win over the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday.

After dunking a bucket, the 28-year-old turned to the crowd and performed the celebration for wrestler Triple H. Nets star Kevin Durant called the celebration “trashy” on social media.

“There’s no secret that Triple H is my guy,” the 76ers center said after the game.

‘Obviously DX, when I used to watch wrestling, those were my guys. Every chance I get, I haven’t done it in a long time, so I felt like it was a good y-1. I received the ball, didn’t even see the hoop and felt like I deserved a good celebration.

The NBA also penalized Golden State Warriors guard Curry for throwing away his mouthpiece in his team’s win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

Curry was called for a technical and ejected with 1:14 remaining in the Warriors’ 122-120 win after scoring a game-high 34 points.

Curry’s teammate Jordan Poole couldn’t help but mock the star’s ejection after the game. He couldn’t resist imitating the mouthguard toss into the tunnel.

Curry was not happy with what he saw as a misjudged three-pointer attempt by Poole, and as a result his mouthguard was thrown, leading to his automatic ejection.

Poole secured victory in the final moments and trolled his teammate, who was waiting for him in the tunnel.
