NBA star Taylor Hendricks suffers gruesome broken leg in freak accident during Jazz loss to the Mavericks

Utah Jazz sophomore Taylor Hendricks ended their 110-102 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Monday after a freak accident in the third quarter.

During a fast break, the attacker appeared to have taken a wrong step before falling on his right leg and being unable to get back up.

As Hendricks attempted to stand, his lower right leg bent horribly sideways, which was clearly visible on the broadcast. Players on the field immediately notice the pause and turn away at the same time.

Medical personnel attended to Hendricks before he was stretchered off the field and play continued.

The Jazz later announced that Hendricks suffered a broken right fibula and a dislocated ankle. After the game, the team added that updates on his status will be provided “as needed.”

“It’s hard to swallow,” Jazz coach Will Hardy said of the incident after the game. ‘He worked very hard. He’s a great boy. So we’re really just trying to focus on him, on his health, and keeping his spirits up as he starts the road of his recovery.”
