Ryan Rollins, the security guard released by the Washington Wizards on Monday, has been charged multiple times with stealing from a Target store.

This is evident from court documents filed in the Alexandria General District Court in Virginia and seen by The Athletic, the 21-year-old is charged with seven counts of petit larceny.

It is alleged that Rollins, whose $1.7 million salary for the season was fully guaranteed by the Wizards, stole household items such as groceries, body wash and candles valued at less than $1,000.

Rollins allegedly committed the crimes between September 9 and November 9, when he was still on the Wizards’ roster, stealing from the same Target store each time.

A hearing is scheduled for early next month, with Rollins yet to enter a plea.

In Virginia, petty theft of property under the value of $1,000 from a business is a class 1 misdemeanor.

Rollins, formerly of the Golden State Warriors, played in 10 regular season games for the Wizards before being released.

He averaged 4.1 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 6.6 minutes in 10 games for the Wizards this season.

He was part of the trade package that sent Chris Paul to the Warriors in the summer.

The Warriors have already moved on from Rollins and signed guard Hamidou Diallo to a one-day contract, taking advantage of the vacant roster spot.

Rollins would not only receive $1.7 million guaranteed for this season, but would also receive $600,000 guaranteed next year.

“We recently learned of the charges against Ryan,” Monumental Basketball President Michael Winger said in a statement to The Athletic.

‘We cannot comment on this matter, or the basis for our roster decisions.

“We take our roles very seriously as citizens of the DMV, representatives of our fans and a team that our community can be proud of.

‘These are expectations, not ambitions. We are eager to continue with our team as it stands and strive for excellence both on and off the pitch.”
