NBA legend Scottie Pippen makes shock career move
NBA legend Scottie Pippen may be best known for his six championship titles with the Chicago Bulls, but since ending his glittering life on the court, he has taken his career in a whole new direction.
The 59-year-old, who retired from the NBA in 2004, has traded basketball jerseys for couture, while Pippen is set to launch his own clothing line.
The former striker has co-founded a menswear brand called ‘Unguarded’ with his daughter Sophia.
The collection, which has streetwear designer Cassius Smith closely involved in the design process, will reportedly feature high-end clothing with “classic silhouettes with modern thinking,” according to TMZ.
“With Unguarded,” says Pippen, “we were able to take the basics to the next level and break away from the typical streetwear stereotypes. It’s completely unexpected how incredible this line is.”
Pippen, Sophia and co. reportedly started bringing the collection to life about eleven months ago and expects it to hit the market next summer.

Sophia shared a sneak peek of the upcoming clothing line with fans as she posted several behind-the-scenes photos from a photo shoot.
“BTS #Unguarded coming soon,” she wrote alongside silent emojis.
The aspiring runway model posed in her and her father’s designs alongside hip-hop and rap artist Ju$tice.
In one photo, Sophia dazzles in a loose navy blue sweater, washed blue straight-leg denim jeans and rectangular pitch black ’90s sunglasses.
Other looks in the teaser also played into the ’90s vintage theme, with another photo showing Sophia in a blue varsity jacket with red and yellow trim, while Ju$tice shows off a pair of matching shorts.
The musician sports a number of classic chic looks, including a two-tone cream and beige ‘shaket’ and a jacket with a blue collar.
Sophia has followed in the footsteps of her mother Larsa Pippen by entering the fashion world as a model. According to him, the 15-year-old already has a deal with Oscar de la Renta Marca.
The clothing line shares its name with Pippen’s 2021 memoir, which focused on former Chicago Bulls teammate Michael Jordan.

Sophia is one of Pippen’s four children whom he shares with ex-wife Larsa, along with her three brothers Scotty Jr., Preston and Justin.
Larsa and Pippen first split in 2016 before reconciling and splitting for good in 2018. The couple’s divorce was officially finalized in December 2021, after 24 years of marriage.
Last year, Larsa received a lump sum from Pippen’s retirement plan after he was reportedly recognized as an “alternate beneficiary” of his Chicago Bulls 401k Savings Plan Trust, RadarOnline reported.
The court awarded Larsa “fifty percent” of what was in their account until the date of separation. The couple married on July 20, 1997 and their official divorce date is recognized as November 3, 2016.
