The NBA is under investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice over alleged antitrust allegations, according to a new report.

TMZ said On Tuesday, the league was accused of working to prevent the growth of Ice Cube’s Big3 basketball league.

The NBA would try to prevent sponsors and other business partners from doing business with the league, and discourage TV networks from carrying Big3 games.

The competition last aired on CBS and Paramount+

The DOJ investigation started months ago, according to TMZ.

The three-on-three league, which started in 2017, consists primarily of retired NBA players and takes place during the NBA’s summer offseason.

However, according to TMZ, both NBA players and referees would be prevented from participating in the competition.

Celtics star Jaylen Brown took part in the league’s All-Star game last summer.

NBA owners would also have been discouraged from investing in the Big3.
