NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown makes pilgrimage to Mecca as he performs Umrah alongside Tacko Fall after leading the Celtics to their 18th title

Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown performed Umrah in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, with his former teammate Taco Fall.

Brown, 27, was photographed with Fall and several men on Monday as they performed a prayer service in front of the Kaaba.

After converting to Islam in 2021, Brown honors the religion’s practices and acknowledges how it has changed his life off the basketball court.

“Ramadan is something special. It saved my life in many ways,” the guard said in 2022, according to the Boston Herald.

“So a shoutout to all the people that are participating and a shoutout to everyone that is showing respect, because in reality, there are things that are bigger than basketball.”

Brown recently demonstrated the kindness his faith preaches when he rewarded two fans for returning a ring he lost during the Celtics’ championship parade on July 2.

Brown posted a video of himself meeting fans Adi and Luke on his Instagram. After presenting the ring to Brown’s friend, the Celtics star got out of an SUV to thank them in person.

Wearing a hoodie and sunglasses, the former Berkley star asked fans to keep quiet as he handed them gifts to express his gratitude on Boston’s Causeway Street.

“We just wanted you to have it back,” Adi tells Brown as he hands them a signed ball and shirt. Brown also appears to hand them an envelope, which Luke initially refused to accept.

Brown was the driving force behind Boston’s historic 18th NBA title after defeating the Dallas Mavericks in 5 games.

He proved he was worth his five-year, $304 million supermax contract with the Celtics in 2023 by averaging 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists in the NBA Finals.
