The first day of the NBA’s regular season tournament is really making an impression on fans – just not one the league might have hoped for.

In an effort to differentiate themselves from the regular season, each team plays on a specially designed field that matches the look of their latest Nike ‘City Edition’ jerseys.

But the courts took a huge turn to the left, away from any tradition, opting for bright and bold colors that certainly provoked some kind of reaction.

Some teams, such as Memphis, Milwaukee and Orlando, were able to use more subtle colors, such as gray and brown.

But other teams such as Oklahoma City, Indiana and Chicago used colors like red and bright blue.

Fans responded mostly negatively to these creations, saying they were unnecessary and downright evil.

“The effort it takes to make these games special during seasonal tournaments is strange. Did the courts really need to be renovated?’ wrote NESN sports betting analyst Claudia Bellofatto.

“These NBA In-Season Tournament courts are terrible… (NBA Commissioner) Adam Silver has lost his mind,” another user wrote.

“Bruh, these NBA courts are a sight to behold. (Former NBA commissioner) David Stern is spinning in his grave right now. This whole NBA regular season tournament is a bad concept,” said another user.

The seasonal tournament is held in the same style as a football competition, with tournament matches interwoven with the regular season.

There are six groups of five teams; teams play the other four teams in their group once. The six group winners will reach the quarter-finals, as will a pair of wildcard teams – the two best second places from the groups.

The quarter-finals are on December 4 and 5 with higher placements; the semifinals are on December 7 in Las Vegas and the title game is on December 9 in Las Vegas.
