NBA fans go wild as Team USA basketball star wraps his gold medal around his adorable dog
A Team USA Olympic basketball star has melted the hearts of NBA fans online after posing with his dog and gold medal during a professional photoshoot.
Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton, who hasn’t played much in Paris this summer, shared a few snaps of himself with his adorable goldendoodle, Ames, on Instagram on Saturday.
One of the photos shows Ames wrapped in an American flag and wearing the medal himself.
Haliburton, who managed his dog @amesers’ profile on the social media platform, captioned the post, “USA USA USA (don’t talk about the last pic, daddy promised me it was the last one for the 100th time).”
Halliburton’s girlfriend Jadee Jones is also a co-parent on the account.

“More of this energy please,” Nathalie Wideman, a Canadian softball player and bronze medalist at the Paris Olympics, captioned the photoshoot post.
“We named our dog Ames after your dog!” another fan shared.
“I’m here for that guy and his scribble,” someone else wrote.
One user poked fun at Halliburton’s playing time this summer, writing under a post of the 24-year-old with his pet: “Even the dog wore more than Halliburton during the Olympics.”
Halliburton joked about his lack of playing time at the Olympics after winning his gold medal
Ames is named after the city where Halliburton made his name as a star player on the Iowa State college basketball team.
He adopted the dog during the NBA’s rookie season in 2020-21.
Earlier this month, after Team USA defeated France in the Olympic final, Haliburton went viral by joking about his limited participation in the tournament.
“When you don’t get a good grade on a group assignment and still get an A,” he wrote in his post on X.
