Seven-time retired NBA All-Star Grant Hill and his wife, Grammy-nominated R&B singer Tamia Hill, are joining the ownership group of Orlando City SC in the MLS and the Orlando Pride in the NWSL.

The Hills’ investment in the city’s football clubs was announced in a press release on Friday afternoon.

“We are very excited to add both Tamia and Grant Hill as part of our ownership group for Orlando City and Orlando Pride,” said club owner and chairman Mark Wilf. “Over the years we have come to know and appreciate Tamia and Grant, their passion for our clubs and their commitment to the community.”

“Both have professional resumes that speak for themselves and are highly talented individuals in the business world, but more importantly, they are incredible contributors to the greater Orlando region.”

The Hills, who live in Orlando with their daughters, have gone from season ticket holders to limited partners for both clubs.

“We would like to thank the Wilf family for the opportunity to join this incredible organization and for making our family part of the Orlando City and Orlando Pride family,” said Tamia and Grant Hill.

“From the moment we met the Wilfs, we were impressed with their vision for the club and the passion they have for giving back to the Central Florida community, something that is also of great importance to us.”

Grant Hill played 18 seasons in the NBA, including eight with the Orlando Magic, from 2000-2007. Despite dealing with several injuries while playing in Orlando, Hill was named an All-Star in 2000, 2001 and 2005.

Hill played for the Phoenix Suns and then the LA Clippers before retiring in 2013. Hill is now co-owner of the Atlanta Hawks and a basketball analyst for CBS and Turner Sports.

Tamia, on the other hand, found success as an R&B singer with seven studio albums and six Grammy nominations. In 1994, Tamia signed with Warner Bros. Records and made chart hits such as ‘So Into You’ and ‘Imagination’. Tamia and Grant Hill married in 1999.

“The future is bright for both teams, and we are excited to support Orlando City as well as the opportunity to be part of the Orlando Pride and take women to the next level in the sport,” The Hills said.

“Games at Exploria Stadium are one of our favorite places to take our daughters, and we are very excited to now be doing this as part of the ownership group.”

The Hills now join a group of A-list athletes and celebrities with stakes in American football franchises. Investors include Patrick Mahomes, Eli Manning, Sue Bird, James Harden, Kevin Durant, Russell Wilson, Ciara, Mark Ingam and Will Ferrell.
