A dog set a room on fire on Christmas Eve after jumping on the bed and accidentally turning on a hair dryer.
Fire crews were called to Hockley, Essex, following reports of a smoke filled house and found the fire in the bedroom.
The homeowner was out and returned to find his home filled with smoke after the dog ignited the hair dryer and the bed and mattress caught fire.
The naughty dog was waiting at the front door when she got home and they were both treated for smoke inhalation.

Pictures show the bedroom heavily damaged as a result of the fire and a badly burned scratched mattress.
Essex Fire Service watch manager Gary Shinn said: “The homeowner was out and returned to find his home filled with smoke.”
“We believe the fire started because a hair dryer was left plugged in and on a bed.
“We believe the dog may have jumped on the bed and turned on the hair dryer, ultimately causing the bedding and mattress to catch fire.”
‘Once you’re done with electrical appliances like hair dryers and straighteners, take a moment to unplug them.
Pictures show the bedroom heavily damaged as a result of the fire and a badly scorched striped mattress.
“The homeowner wouldn’t have thought for a moment that their dog would turn on the hair dryer, but unplugging something gives you peace of mind.”
In a tweet, the fire service also said: ‘A freak accident started a fire in Hockley today. A dog jumped on a bed and turned on a hair dryer, eventually causing it to catch on the mattress.
People on social media were worried about the dog and the family and sent their best wishes.
One user said that the incident was the reason for his paranoia, apparently regarding turning off appliances.
