National University Hospital tests predictive AI for Alzheimer’s from Korea

Singapore’s National University Hospital has partnered with South Korea-based medical AI company Heuron to test the latter’s AI solutions for screening and predicting Alzheimer’s disease.

Heuron provided two solutions: Heuron AD, which provides quantitative analyzes of brain atrophy, and Heuron Brain PET, which provides fast and accurate PET tracer quantification.

Their one-year study will use approximately 700 MRI images of the brains and 230 PET scans of the brains of healthy patients, those with mild cognitive impairment and people dealing with Alzheimer’s disease from NUH.

IHH Healthcare provides sleep AI solutions in clinics and hospitals

IHH Healthcare, Asia’s largest private healthcare group, has made available an AI-powered wearable ring and software for diagnosing sleep apnea and other sleep disorders within the global network of clinics and hospitals.

It recently invested in Hong Kong-based health tech company Belun, which received the first US FDA approval for an AI-powered platform for diagnosing sleep apnea.

In a press release, IHH said patients can take the Belun ring at home as a sleep test. The ring collects data that is then aggregated into a clinical report for doctors to help manage their health.

IHH also plans to further collaborate with Belun to address other health issues related to sleep disorders.

India’s heart hospital is shifting to connected beds

As part of its new digital initiative, India’s BM Birla Heart Hospital has introduced continuous remote patient monitoring across its wards.

It partnered with Dozee for its Enhanced Cardiac Care program, which includes the deployment of those of its partners AI-powered connected bed technology. The technology platform allows staff to remotely monitor patients’ vital parameters, such as heart rate, blood pressure and ECG. It also tracks trends in those measurements and alerts doctors to signs of deterioration.

BM Birla initiated the program to enhance its ability to provide personalized care while promoting patient safety and outcomes and raising standards in the delivery of cardiac care.
