Nathan Cleary might be the best player in rugby league right now – but his girlfriend Mary Fowler has revealed one skill that needs more work

  • The NRL superstar’s camera skills leave a lot to be desired
  • Got red-faced after Mary Fowler’s recent Instagram story
  • The power couple is determined to make their relationship work

Nathan Cleary is in many people’s eyes the best rugby league player in the world, but his photographic skills certainly need some refinement.

The Panthers halfback, 26, is currently on holiday abroad with his girlfriend – Matildas and Manchester City star Mary Fowler – and he showed his romantic side publicly after she posted some photos from a recent football trip to Austria.

“You take some nice pictures,” Cleary posted on Instagram in response to Fowler’s photo dump from Vienna.

Fowler then posted another image to an Instagram story on Friday – and the footy superstar is said to have cringed.

The photo had the accompanying image – ‘nice photo babes’ – after Cleary tried to take a quick photo – with the camera lens still on.

Earlier this week, Fowler, 21, scored the winner for the Citizens in their 3-2 win against St.Pölten in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

She headed home in the 80th minute to seal valuable three points on the road after compatriot Alanna Kennedy opened the scoring with a rocket from 25 yards.

“I’m just happy to get that win with the girls and obviously it feels really good to be able to help with a goal like that,” Fowler said.

Fowler and Cleary are a sporty power couple and seem determined to continue their relationship long distance

Earlier this week, Fowler, 21, scored the winner for the Citizens in their 3-2 win against St.Pölten in the UEFA Women’s Champions League

The couple were ‘outed’ in Perth for a Matildas Olympic qualifier in November last year in a Daily Mail Australia exclusive

“I’m most proud of the girls for being able to come from behind and change that energy and ultimately get the result.”

Cleary, who is expected to return to Australia soon for shoulder surgery, recently opened up about his relationship in detail for the first time.

He explained how Fowler changed his life for the better.

“I loved it, it’s everything I could have ever dreamed of having a partner, to be honest,” he told Channel Nine. Marlee and I podcast.

“It’s just added a new perspective, but it’s also added an extra layer: when things go well, you want to share it with them and talk about it… and when things don’t go well, they’re there too.

‘[She is] super supportive and I absolutely loved it. Honestly, it’s just a great addition to life, and it’s made me very happy.

‘Love conquers.’
