Nathan Cleary and Mary Fowler share snaps of their latest romantic getaway as the pair head to the beach after NRL star joined her family on big Aussie road trip

Fresh from their Queensland road trip, Nathan Cleary and Mary Fowler shared some more snaps of what they’ve been up to over the holidays.

The Australian sporting power couple was spotted enjoying a road trip to Far North Queensland with some members of Fowler’s family last week.

The group, which included some of Fowler’s siblings, took a walk through a wooded area before sitting by a creek and playing with the family dog. They were also seen stopping to take a photo at the Big Mango, just outside Bowen.

As they catch up with family and friends over Christmas, it appears the Manchester City star and the Penrith Panther halfback have enjoyed some time alone, with the pair appearing to jet off for a romantic beach holiday to the Whitsundays.

Fowler is currently on a winter break from football, with the Matildas star, who has scored twice in all competitions in her last four games for the Cityzens, returning to take on Ipswich on Monday, January 13.

Cleary is currently undergoing rehabilitation after undergoing surgery on a shoulder injury that has plagued the Penrith ace for most of last season.

His recovery will take around three to four months, with Cleary now having his armband removed. The 27-year-old also recently revealed that he had been eating sea moss to get him back to full fitness faster.

On Sunday, both Fowler and Cleary shared photos to their Instagram accounts, with the NRL player making a comment that many Penrith fans will be happy to hear.

He wrote: ‘Batteries are charged.’

Fowler’s Instagram caption read, “The adorable vacation photos he took,” prompting Cleary to respond in the comments.

He seemed to laugh: “The last one is just flawless,” referring to a photo of Fowler sleeping on a flight.

It’s been a whirlwind few years for both stars, with Cleary leading the Panthers to four consecutive premiership titles.

Fowler, meanwhile, has withdrawn from the Matildas’ recent home matches against Brazil and Chinese Taipei, citing her mental and physical well-being as her reason for stepping back from the national side.

Fowler has also had a busy start to the 2024-25 season, making 17 appearances for City in the WSL and Women’s Champions League.

The pair posted several photos of each other enjoying a walk on the seaside, while also sharing a photo of the pair getting coffee on the beach.

Cleary was pictured lying back in a hammock, while Fowler stopped to pose for a moment on a hillside in front of the sunset.

The sporty duo are said to have been dating since November 2023 and were recently photographed enjoying a walk to Burleigh Heads before stopping to enjoy the views over Tallebudgera Creek.

After securing his fourth consecutive Premiership title with the Panthers in October, Cleary headed to the UK to spend time with Fowler, with the pair pictured for the first time at the Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford.

Cleary and Fowler would enjoy multiple trips around Europe, including a getaway to Mallorca, before Cleary would return to undergo surgery on his shoulder.

And with the NRL season fast approaching, Cleary recently lifted the lid on the progress of his recovery.

‘The recovery takes about three to four months, so so far it’s been good. I started training again yesterday (Thursday) and it’s been good so far,” Cleary told NewsWire.

“I’m slowly ticking off the boxes and after Christmas it starts to take off. I’m a little ahead of schedule, which is cool.

“There are a few lads at the club who have come back from shoulder surgery and everyone is doing really well. We are all making good progress together.’
