Police have revealed that a doctor who disappeared three months ago may have been sighted while walking with a large group of people along a popular hiking trail.
Dr. Nathalie Casal told her family in December last year that she was going to hike the Bibbulmun Track in Western Australia with a group and that she might be out of contact for some time.
The Bibbulmun Track is a 1,000 kilometer long distance route stretching from Kalamunda, east of Perth, to Albany.
Police have released a major update in the search for missing woman Nathalie Casal (pictured), who disappeared three months ago while walking along a popular hiking trail
Police believe the 71-year-old may have started her walk from Mundaring, a popular starting point for many of the walking routes in the area east of Perth.
She hasn’t been seen since she went out for the walk in December, more than three months ago.
Western Australian Police have since received information that Dr. Casal possibly stopped for supplies at Northcliffe on the afternoon of March 14.
“If that information is correct, it is believed Dr Casal would now be somewhere between Northcliffe and Walpole, en route to Albany,” a spokesperson said.
Her family only reported her missing two weeks ago, on March 7.
A police statement issued last Thursday said Dr Casal had had no contact with her family since she went missing.

Ms Casal embarked on a group walk on the Bibbulmun Track (pictured), which stretches 1,000km from Kalamunda, east of Perth, to Albany
‘This doesn’t suit Dr. Casal and prompted her family to contact the police,” said a spokesperson.
Police are appealing for people in the area between Northcliffe and Walpole to report any sightings.
Dr. Casal is described as about 157cm tall, of slim build, with short gray hair and brown eyes.
She is listed online as a GP in Joondalup, 26km north of Perth’s CBD.
Anyone who has seen her or has information about her whereabouts is urged to contact police immediately on 131 444.
