Natalie Imbruglia has opened up about motherhood in a rare interview, revealing that her life has “absolutely changed” since she welcomed her son three years ago.
The Torn hitmaker, 47, spoke to Kyle Sandilands and Brittany Higgins on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Tuesday and revealed her son Max is ‘staying with her parents’ while she’s back in her native Australia to host the ARIAs.
“I miss him so much, I’m going to cry,” she told the hosts.

The star added that she is “definitely” a “hands-on parent” and will not leave her child with a sitter.
“The band and then when you’re not with them. It’s just life-changing.
“Everyone just says what did I do before I had kids? Because I had so much time back then.
In 2021, she told Stellar Magazine that she had always wanted to be a mother.

“Getting older is the most incredible thing that has ever happened to me. It’s something I’ve wanted to do since I was a little girl. It has given me a sense of peace,” Natalie told the publication.
However, the Wrong Impression hitmaker admitted that raising kids “isn’t for everyone.”
“There are stigmas for women that if they’re not parents, what does that mean to them?” she said.
Natalie, who divorced Australian rocker Daniel Johns in 2008 after four years of marriage, announced on social media that she was pregnant in 2019, telling fans, “No, I didn’t swallow a watermelon.
“I am also aware of the struggle many women still have to achieve that and what it feels like to be left behind.
“It’s important to acknowledge all the women out there, including those who say, ‘Ugh, another mom talking about how lucky they are.'”
Natalie previously confessed that she felt like something was missing in her life – so she turned to a sperm donor to make it complete.
The Australian has also spoken of her joy at defying expectations by becoming a first-time mother in her mid-40s.

“I’m used to pushing the laws of probability in terms of what I’ve done in life. I’ve always managed to do things that are unlikely or improbable,” she said.
The former soap star said motherhood is “truly magical” and has filled the void in her life.
“Looking back, I had lovely friends, was married, a beautiful house and a career I was proud of,” she told Baby magazine.
“But I had long since come to the point where I knew something was missing and that thing became something I longed for above all else.”
The singer, known for her 1997 hit Torn, said she was “overwhelmed by the well-wishers” and tries to “enjoy” time with her son.
