With only hours left until the NHL Draft, Chicago Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson went unnoticed in an interview.

While preparing to make his team’s roster with the first overall pick, a local Nashville hockey content team – PenaltyBoxRadio – ran into Davidson.

However, they seemingly didn’t know who the GM was as they kept questioning “Kyle from Chicago.”

Davidson was challenged to name as many NHL players as possible in 20 seconds – past or present.

He began by mentioning some hockey legends like Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux before poking fun at role players from Chicago’s teams in early 2010, around the time Davidson joined the Blackhawks.

In addition to Blackhawks legends like Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane, Davidson also named players like Dave Bolland, Niklas Hjalmarsson and Michal Rozsival – all of whom won the Stanley Cup.

Davidson prefaced all of this by saying he would simply rate his hockey knowledge a four out of 10, adding, “Some people say I don’t know much” about the sport.

He was also asked what he would change in the league – if he could – to which Davidson replied, “I think it’s pretty cool.” I don’t really have a specific change.

“I love the game, love where it is, love the love of the players who are in the game, and it’s all good for me.”

Finally, Davidson was asked if he thought the league rigged the draft lottery in favor of the Blackhawks so they could get the best overall pick and the rights to Connor Bedard.

Davidson broke the fourth wall – stared straight into the camera and said, “No.”

The NHL Draft takes place on Wednesday nights at 7:00 PM ET.
