NASCAR driver suffers HORROR crash at Daytona as car flips over and smashes into fence

NASCAR driver Josh Berry suffered life-threatening injuries during the Coke Sugar Zero 400 when his car veered off the track, flipped over and hit the fence.

The 33-year-old driver was on the verge of a podium finish at Daytona until the accident occurred with just two laps remaining on Saturday night.

Berry was riding behind Austin Cindric at the time.

According to NASCAR’s official X account, Berry “was evaluated and released from the infield care center.”

When he got out of the car, he even gave the audience a thumbs up.

NBC footage shows Berry’s car derailing after colliding with Cindric’s car.

Cindric then took the opportunity to extend his lead, while Berry and his car went through the motions of the accident.

However, it was Harrison Button who declared the winner of this weekend’s race.

Kyle Busch finished second and Christopher Bell third.

Cendric eventually finished 18th out of 40 participating drivers.

Several NASCAR fans demanded that Cendric be punished for derailing Berry.

“Cindric deserves to be suspended,” said one user on X.

‘Cindric should be banned. For life. No talent,’ someone else wrote.

“Cindric is such a dangerous driver. There is no reason why he should be in Cup racing like this,” another person shared.

“Cindric is lucky he didn’t freak out,” another user commented.

Earlier this month, Austin Dillon made headlines after hitting fellow NASCAR driver Joey Logano in Turn 4 of the final lap at Richmond Raceway.

Logano finished first in the race – his first win in two years – although Logan called him a “piece of shit” after the race.
