Narelda Jacobs embraces lesbian dating trend of ‘couple dressing’

Studio 10 presenter Narelda Jacobs is so obsessed with her new friend Karina Natt that they start dressing right away.

The native journalist, 47, posted a photo to Instagram on Monday of herself and Greens staffer Natt posing in an elevator.

Both women looked every inch like the power couple, opting for jeans, boots and blouses, which Jacobs said reflected their “drive to merge.”

According to Urban Dictionary, “community urge” is lesbian slang for when a couple feels the desire to “become the same person.”

“They start wearing the same outfits, do everything together, and mostly become the same person through their friends’ disgust and loathing,” the term’s entry reads.

Natt is the chief of staff to South Australian Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young.

Jacobs was in a long-term relationship with filmmaker Stevie Cruz-Martin until a few months ago.

She debuted her new romance in an Instagram post last month, sharing a photo of the two women kissing at the Sydney World Pride celebrations.

In the caption, Jacobs revealed that the couple went on their first date in February, meaning they’ve only been an item for four weeks.

“I can’t ignore the numbers. First date 23/02/23. A month later 3/23/23,” she wrote.

Natt, who bears a striking resemblance to Cruz-Martin, wore a sequined dress while holding up the rainbow pride flag.

She first appeared on Jacobs’ Instagram feed on March 4.

While it’s unclear when Jacobs and Cruz-Martin split, the film and television director now appears to be living in London.

One of Jacobs’ last Instagram posts about Cruz-Martin was a birthday tribute she posted in December.

“Happy birthday, honey,” the journalist wrote in the caption.

Jacobs said The Australian in 2021 she was told it was wrong to be gay and she would go to hell for her sexuality.

She also said she wanted her daughter Jade Dolman to have a more tolerant and accepting childhood than the one she had.

“I wanted Jade to grow up with an open mind; I don’t, because of our very Christian upbringing. We thought gays went to hell,” she said.

Jacobs, who grew up in a strict Christian family before coming out at age 21, previously had a hard time accepting that she was gay.

“I buried my sexuality so deeply because of how we were raised,” she told The Sydney Morning Herald in February 2021.

Her mother Margaret has made it clear that she doesn’t accept her sexuality, but loves her anyway.

‘[My mother and I] we have great conversations about all sorts of things, but there are certain things that we just don’t talk about,” she said.

“I’d love to talk to my mom about relationship issues, but I know I’ll never be able to.”
