Napoli has unequivocally denied in a remarkable statement on social media that winger Khvicha has offered Kvaratskhelia an improved contract.
Kvaratskhelia joined the Serie A side last summer and made a huge impact in his first season, scoring 12 goals and 13 assists as Napoli won the title for the first time in 33 years.
His performances have not gone unnoticed and have sparked speculation about his future.
Italian media have reported that Kvaratskhelia has received a huge pay rise on his current annual salary of €1.2 million, which could triple his wages as Napoli try to retain one of their key players.
But Napoli insists this is not the case and has attacked the Georgian’s agents for passing false information to the media.

Some media, with the footballer’s brokers as the sole source, continue to report alleged ongoing negotiations for the renewal of Kvaratskhelia. They are bulls***,” Napoli wrote on X.
“No one from Napoli has ever spoken about the possible extension of the player (whose contract expires in four years). Neither Mauro Meluso, nor Maurizio Micheli, nor Aurelio de Laurentiis, nor Andrea Chiavelli did it.’
Napoli had to fend off interest in Kvaratskhelia last summer, with Newcastle reportedly making an £82 million bid for him, while the player also previously spoke of his love for Real Madrid.
For now, he remains on their books, but it seems they have no plans to offer him a new deal anytime soon.
Kvaratskhelia has had a quieter start to his second season in Naples, missing his team’s opening game against Frosinone due to muscle fatigue.
He returned from the bench against Sassuolo the following week and made his first start of the campaign against Lazio on Saturday, but was unable to inspire his side to victory as they were beaten 2-1 by Maurizio Sarri’s men.
With that result, Napoli has six points from the first three games, three points behind both Milanese clubs.
