Napoli ‘open talks with Man United over Scott McTominay as they close in on Brighton midfielder Billy Gimour’

Napoli are said to have sold two Premier League players faster.

Napoli director Giovanni Manna is said to have arrived in London on Tuesday to hold talks with a number of Premier League clubs.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Italian club has opened an official investigation into Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay.

The Red Devils value the 27-year-old at around £25-30million and have no plans to loan him out.

McTominay’s contract at Old Trafford expires in 11 months and he has also been linked with clubs including Tottenham and Fulham this summer.

United are looking to sell McTominay or Casemiro this summer in order to sign a new defensive midfielder, but are also interested in Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain.

Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio also claims that Napoli are close to signing Gilmour from Brighton and have already reached an agreement with the 23-year-old.

Manager Antonio Conte worked with Gilmour at Chelsea, where the 23-year-old made his breakthrough.

Gilmour has impressed at Brighton so far, making 32 league appearances last season, and is expected to have two years left on his contract.
