Naomi Watts has shared her grief following the passing of her beloved grandmother at the age of 99.
The 55-year-old Australian-British actress shared the sad news on Instagram on Friday that her ‘nanna’ Nikki Roberts has passed away, three weeks after suffering a stroke.
Naomi shared a carousel of sweet photos of herself with Nikki and her family members and paid a lengthy tribute to her “down-to-earth” grandmother.
She told how her grandmother lived to her 99th birthday after suffering a stroke, and how she achieved her goal of having one last party with all her family members.
Naomi shared a photo of four generations of her family, praising her grandmother’s lasting legacy and admitting it’s an emotional time for her family.
“My sweet Nanna has left this world but her spirit will never leave us,” the Mulholland Drive star began the touching post.
“I’m truly blessed to have had the most amazing relationship with her. She’s such a huge part of who I am: her core values, her work ethic, and her wicked humor and zest for life.”
“My mother and aunts are devastated today, but we know what a wonderful life she had,” Naomi continued.

“She kept going because she loved her life and her family. She lived for three more weeks after a massive stroke because she, in full beast mode, showed us that when she was finally ready to ‘peg it – she would peg it.’
“She had one more goal to achieve. Her 99th birthday!! One more party. One more family gathering.”
Naomi concluded the emotional post with a compliment about Nikki’s humor and ‘no-nonsense attitude’.
“I will never forget her mischievous smile, her combative nature, her down-to-earth attitude and her zero-waste policy,” she exclaimed.
‘She would cut the mold off the bread and cheese: ‘you don’t need an expiration date, there’s a nose for that! May her stories and memories live on.’
