Naomi Watts has confessed that there have been times when she was ‘close’ to undergoing plastic surgery.

The British-Australian actress, 54, said: In style she’s given a lot of thought to going under the knife in the past and has done “a lot of research” on it as well.

In her latest film, Goodnight Mommy, Watts’ character undergoes a cosmetic procedure so extensive that her own sons no longer recognize her.

When asked if she would consider going under the knife, she said, “I’ve done a lot of research and sometimes got close and thought about doing it.”

“And that doesn’t mean I won’t one day. If I knew I could look great and like myself, but less tired, I’d be happy to do what needs to be done,” she added.

Watts explained that surgery is a personal choice and nothing to be ashamed of.

“I don’t think we should ever be ashamed of anyone who has made that choice, because everyone has to approach it at their own level,” she said.

Elsewhere in her InStyle interview, the two-time Oscar nominee also spoke about her experience of aging in Hollywood.

‘My career really started when I was in my early thirties; that was when Mulholland Drive came out,” she said.
