Meanwhile, the videos showed Naomi wearing an intricate black and silver skirt that the designer made adjustments to.

Naomi and Azzedine had a close relationship, and the designer took her under his wing when she was starting out as a model.

Speaking to The Independent in 1998, he said: “I didn’t know how to do the catwalk when I started modelling, but he believed in me.”

“That got the attention of other designers, and that’s how I became known, because other designers heard about this girl that Azzedine was working with.”

Naomi was heartbroken after her death and was seen in tears while attending her funeral in 2017.

The supermodel revealed to saudi arabia in 2019 that she missed him ‘so much’ after he passed away.

Alaia was born into a farming family in Tunisia in 1940 and studied sculpture at the capital’s fine arts school before working in a modest neighborhood dressmaker’s shop.

Alaia gained worldwide fame in the 1980s with form-fitting black shorts and zip-back skirts, designs that helped define the confident feminine silhouette of the era.

However, he refused to keep pace with international fashion weeks, releasing his collections on his own time with little concern for publicity.
