Nantucket locals ban associates of retired doctor from stepping foot on mainland as he posts $200K bail after being busted with ‘guns, drugs and prostitutes’ on his luxury yacht
Employees of retired Dr. Scott Anthony Burke were barred from disembarking on the Nantucket mainland after the former spine doctor and his friends were caught on his luxury yacht with “guns, drugs and prostitutes.”
Burke, who posted $200,000 bail after pleading not guilty to drug and gun trafficking charges during an arraignment in Plymouth District Court.
Locals on the small Massachusetts island say drugs and sex are an expected part of the stay for some rich and famous visitors, but the gun charges were a step too far for the island’s residents.
A longshoreman told the New York After that someone from Burke’s boat was “trying to get sandwiches or something like that off the island.”
“They tried to come to the marina and we told them to leave,” the anonymous employee said.

‘Yesterday I saw two men… They were just sitting in the back, wearing hats and glasses. Just two people sitting in the shade.”
