Nani’s eldest son Lucas follows in his father’s footsteps by signing for the Sporting CP youth team

The eldest son of former Manchester United star Nani has followed in his father’s footsteps by signing for Sporting CP’s youth team.

The Portuguese posted a photo on Twitter of Lucas signing a contract with the club and captioned it with an emoji of a pen, green heart and lion.

The nine-year-old beamed with the legend of the Red Devils as he put pen to paper and wore the green and white shirt.

The 36-year-old winger came over from his youth team Real Massama to Sporting CP in 2004.

Nani won the National Youth Championship in 2004-05 with Sporting and was promoted to the first team in the 2005-06 season.

After starting his career at Sporting, Nani moved to Manchester United in 2007

Nani started his career at Sporting and moved to United in 2007.

He won a string of trophies, including the Champions League and four Premier League titles.

Nani returned to Sporting on a rental basis in 2014 and made a permanent move to Fenerbahce the following year.

He also played with Valencia and Lazio before moving to Australia’s Melbourne Victory.

Nani was capped by Portugal more than 100 times and helped his country win Euro 2016.

Nani brought his son Lucas onto the pitch after Portugal’s victory against Croatia.

Nani and his wife Daniela Martins met in 2007-2008 and got married in 2013 before welcoming their son.
