Nancy Sinatra wishes Elvis Presley happy birthday by sharing her favorite photo of the old friends

elvis presley and Nancy Sinatra had long been rumored to be in an intense and fiery romance that would have made them, quite possibly, the IT celebrity power couple of their day.

And while both stars denied being involved in a romance, their chemistry was undeniable, whether in a social setting or a work project, which included the only movie they starred in together, Speedway (1968).

Over the years, the These Boots Are Made For Walkin’ singer/dancer has admitted to being great friends with the King of Rock n’ Roll, taking time out on Sunday, January 8, to wish him a happy birthday on Twitter.

On this day, the late rock n’ roll icon, who passed away at the age of 42 in August 1977, would have turned 88.

“Thinking of my dear friend on his birthday and wishing he was still here to celebrate with us,” Sinatra, now 82, began in his tweet.

She added: ‘This is my favorite photo of me and Elvis. It shows the fun and love we share.

Oh my gosh how I miss him.

The photo shows Presley sitting with his hands around Sinatra’s waist as they both break into laughter.

It looks as if the photo may have been taken on the set of some kind of entertainment project, possibly his musical action movie Speedway.

Sinatra first met Presley in March 1960, after her father arranged for her to meet him at his Army discharge press conference at McGuire AFB in New Jersey.

Frank Sinatra had sent his then 19-year-old daughter to greet Presley to help get publicity for his first post-army television appearance on The Frank Sinatra Timex Show: Welcome Home Elvis, which aired in May 1960.

From there, rumors of a romance between Presley, who at the time was considered the most famous man in the world, and Sinatra seemed to gain strength.

It got to the point where the Love Me Tender star had to tackle all the talking with Priscilla Beaulieu, whom he met while serving in Germany in 1959.

In her book Elvis and Me, Priscilla said she asked if she was intimate with Sinatra when she called him.er one day in the middle of the night.

“Elvis, but there were photographers here and reporters and they were asking me questions, and – oh, Elvis, is it true that you’re looking at Nancy Sinatra,” he asked, as reported on cheat sheet. ‘No, it’s not true that he’s dating Nancy Sinatra,’ she replied. He said the press often just “stirred up trouble, just to annoy him.”

The Don’t Be Cruel rocker went on to explain that he was just a friend of Nancy’s, later explaining what her father was like: ‘I’m appearing on her father’s show, and everything was set up for her to be here at my press conference when I returned to the United States,” he said. ‘I miss you baby, I think of you all the time.’

Nancy Sinatra would marry her first husband, Tommy Sands, in September 1960, which would last for about five years before they separated and later divorced.

As for Elvis and Priscilla, they were married in May 1967, but they also ended in divorce, which was finalized in 1973.
