Nancy said Dean “was just a shell” of himself following the 1987 death of his son Dean Jr. at age 35 in a plane crash during military training.
“His face reflected his grief and sadness over the loss of his son,” the New Jersey native said. He was never the same after Dean Jr.’s death.
