The View came perilously close to losing viewers on Friday after Nancy Pelosi’s daughter, Alexandra, started “screaming” and told stories of people defecating in the Capitol during an energetic appearance on the show.
Alexandra, 53, promised to be on her ‘best behaviour’ – but left viewers stunned by her ‘tough’ and ‘manic’ attitude as she premiered her new HBO documentary about the January 6 attack on the US capital States discussed.
“Feeling good on Friday so I’ll try to be on my best behavior and try not to get myself cancelled,” she declared before quickly describing the Republican convention as “a bunch of brats” and certain of its politicians accuse them of having zero experience. ‘.
Speaking about her new film, The Insurrectionist Next Door, Alexandra revealed what it was like to go on the road and meet some of the people who are now in prison for storming the US Capitol in 2021.
Referring to the fact that Republicans argued that the people involved were ‘just tourists’, she claimed: ‘People were accused of literally pooping in the capital of the United States. It actually happened, I saw it with my own two eyes!’

Alexandra’s interview kicked off with a discussion about the current political landscape, with Joy Behar, 81, announcing: ‘The current chaos in the house of representatives would never have happened on Nancy Pelosi’s watch, in my opinion.’
The comedian turned to Alexandra and continued: ‘Your mother would have figured out what to do if she was in the Republican party. She would not have allowed this chaos to continue.’
‘I think the reason the house is a mess is because the country is a mess. I think we’re all so divided,’ Alexandra replied, before adding: ‘I’ll say this in love… we have some responsibility, all of us.
The Republican party is in a state of paralysis after Steve Scalise sensationally dropped out of the race to become speaker of the House on Thursday.
Scalise could not get enough support from his own party to replace Kevin McCarthy, who was spectacularly fired from the role last week.
Alexandra continued to talk Democratic Senator Bob Menendez, who was indicted for attempting to act as an agent of the Egyptian government after allegedly trying to use his position to protect and favor his business associates and the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Alexandra asked, ‘The state of New Jersey elected Bob Menendez…does anyone in this room think that Bob Menendez is the best representative?’
Acknowledging Ana Navarro, 51, she continued: ‘I’m sorry, I know he’s your friend and has done good things for…
‘But the point is, come on! We can do better than that! The people chose these people to represent them!’

Joy replied: ‘Yes, but we’ve always had losers and your mum looked like she could herd her cats!’
“She’s with cats, but the Republican conference is a bunch of brats!” There’s a big difference between who gets elected,’ Alexandra said as Ana scoffed: ‘I wanted to say they’re not cats, they’re something else, but I’ll be cancelled!’
Trying to rein in the discussion, Sara Haines announced: ‘I want to talk about your documentary.’
‘Thank you, finally! That’s what I came for!’ Alexandra said as the live studio audience burst into laughter.
The panel was keen to hear her thoughts on why she thinks the people featured in her documentary still have an ‘unblinding loyalty’ to former President Donald Trump.
‘Ronald Sandlin, who took a plea deal for five and a half years for assaulting an officer, sent me two books from prison. He sent me The True Believer and The Crowd.
“Now, a lot of what they say is, ‘I got caught up in the heat of the moment’, that’s not an excuse … they did some really bad things, but he has the cult of personality and they have a kind of religious attachment which is still not broken.’
Viewers were quick to share their thoughts on Alexandra’s over-animated look
Referring to comments made by Republicans who argued that the people who stormed the Capitol were ‘tourists’, Alexandra continued: ‘Let’s just close with this thought: we can all agree, we have to agree to a set of facts and when the Republicans say, “oh they were all just tourists”, no, this is one of the darkest days in American democracy.
‘They weren’t tourists because I saw – one of the people in my film – people were accused of literally pooping in the United States Capitol! It actually happened. I saw it with my own two eyes!’
“Okay, okay, we have to go wrap this up,” Joy said. “Lots to see you, you are so fun and interesting and say hi and send my love to your mom.”

A third person said she ‘looks manic’, adding: ‘It’s too much.’ A fourth commented: ‘Alexandra – you need a little LESS energy lady! Yes kind of everywhere…. Like wassup?’
Another person claimed: ‘Something seems off about Alexandra Pelosi!!! Too much caffeine. I’m holding back on what I REALLY want to say.’
Someone else posted: ‘Alexandria Pelosi is the younger version of her mother. Literally.’
