Nancy Pelosi makes bizarre statement about Kamala Harris’ VP pick Tim Walz in attack on members of her own party

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is attempting to downplay the far-left policies of Vice President Kamala Harris’ recently announced running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

Pelosi reportedly worked behind the scenes to get Walz, who served in Congress from 2006 to 2019 and whom she is “beloved” by, on Harris’s slate.

Her efforts were rewarded when Harris announced she would nominate the governor as her running mate in her bid to become president in November.

But now Pelosi has come up with a bizarre explanation for the progressive stance of her former colleague, who is known for taking tough action to win over average Americans.

Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi defended her former House colleague, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate choice, as a moderate Tuesday morning just before he was selected for the vice presidency. It has been reported that Pelosi was “fond” of Walz’s powerful position

Pelosi responded sharply to MSNBC host Joe Scarborough, a Democrat and former member of the House of Representatives, when he suggested that Walz is “progressive.”

“Tim Walz is great. He served in the House,” Pelosi said. “To characterize him as left wing is so surreal. He’s right in the middle.”

“He is a Democrat from the American heartland and as chairman of our Veterans Affairs Committee, he has made tremendous progress for our veterans,” she continued.

Meanwhile, Republicans quickly attacked Walz for his record, particularly his oversight of Minneapolis, the epicenter of the 2020 George Floyd riots and destruction.

“Harris-Walz: Most Left-Wing Candidate in American History,” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis posted on X on Tuesday.

‘Minnesota was the epicenter of the 2020 BLM riots. Harris incited and Walz watched as Minneapolis went up in flames.’

Chairman Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana), another former colleague of Walz, called him “the most left-wing candidate ever to run for president.”

He “has now chosen a progressive running mate who has expressed support for socialism, supports asylum centers, and wants to give driver’s licenses to the millions of illegal aliens Kamala Harris has allowed into our country.”

“No spin from the campaign or the media should distract from the objective facts and the disastrous record of Harris and Walz,” the Republican continued.

There are reports that Biden is angry with Pelosi for her role in his impeachment. Pelosi worked behind the scenes to calm panicked Democrats after Biden’s first debate appearance, in which he stared into space and struggled to answer questions

Pelosi was reportedly critical of Joe Biden’s campaign cancellation, which led to the rise of Vice President Kamala Harris to the top of the party ticket. Harris was generally seen as more electable by Democrats on Capitol Hill, which reportedly prompted Pelosi to speak candidly with Biden about his waning support for the party.

The current and former House Speakers could not paint a more divergent picture of Walz, indicating the two’s divergent goals.

Johnson wants to remind voters of Walz’s “progressive” record.

And Pelosi will cast Walz in a moderate light to broaden the Democratic ticket’s appeal to moderate voters.

But this isn’t her first move in the 2024 race.

Reports indicate that Pelosi played a critical role in delivering messages from concerned Democrats on Capitol Hill to the White House and Biden’s allies ahead of his withdrawal.

Ultimately, the news reached Biden and his allies so direly that he decided to abandon his re-election bid, much to the delight of Pelosi and her fellow Democratic Party members.

Publicly, however, she always said she trusted Biden to make the right decision.

There are also reports that Biden is angry with her for her role in his impeachment.

But Pelosi has not spoken to the president since his resignation, she announced on CNN on Monday.

Nancy Pelosi said ‘you should ask Joe Biden’ about the state of their relationship after the former House Speaker admitted she hasn’t spoken to him since he ended his re-election campaign

Dana Bash asked her, “Have you spoken to President Biden since he left office?”

“No,” replied the 84-year-old Pelosi, who will officially bear the title “Speaker Emerita” after stepping down as speaker in 2023.

Bash then asked, “Is everything okay with your relationship?”

And then the veteran Democratic leader gave a surprising answer.

“You should ask him that,” Pelosi said.
