Naked jogger wearing nothing but socks, shoes and a bum bag shocks walkers at popular beauty spot

Hikers enjoying an evening walk in the spring sun at a popular beauty spot were amazed by the sight of a naked jogger.

He ran through the trees as if his nakedness was perfectly normal, the man wearing only socks and trainers – plus a bumbag that did nothing to spare the blushes of passersby.

A witness was so shocked to see the jogger – accompanied by a fully clothed female partner – “floating with all his parts” in Alderley Edge, Cheshire yesterday that they posted a video clip on social media.

The anonymous poster was in the National Trust woods at around 6.30pm when they spotted the ‘completely naked man jogging’.

“To say disgusting would be an understatement,” the witness posted on the ‘Real’ Alderley Edge Facebook page.

He ran through the trees as if his nudity was perfectly normal, the man wearing only socks and sneakers – plus a fanny pack that did nothing to spare the blushes of passersby

“Why you would do that to anyone is beyond me.

“I’m not sure whether or not I should report this because of the early age kids could have been up there and it’s unacceptable and intimidating.”

It is the latest in a series of sightings of a male jogger who has been naked except for a fanny pack at beauty spots within a ten-mile radius of Macclesfield since the start of the pandemic.

One of the locations where he has been properly spotted is the village of Flash, the highest village in the UK.

Locals have speculated he started his exhibitionist habit while the countryside was deserted at the height of the first lockdown – but he kept it up despite the return of visitors.

However, it is believed to be the first time he has been caught on video.

Cheshire Police have previously asked for information on reports of a man running through rural areas ‘with his crown jewels on display’ or hidden behind a ‘tiny fanny pack’.

The jogger was accompanied by a fully clothed female partner in Alderley Edge, Cheshire

At the time, officers casually added ‘just to be clear’ that their request for a description of the ‘naked man running in the hills on the border of Cheshire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire’ related to his face and not other body parts .

A similar man was previously photographed jogging naked in August 2020 near The Roaches, a dramatic rocky ridge above Leek in Staffordshire.

Anna Phillips, who was shooting paragliders when she saw him, told the Stoke Sentinel: ‘I made eye contact with him because I didn’t know where to look and I didn’t want to be uncomfortable by looking away.

“We said ‘good evening’ to each other because that’s typically British, I think, and he kept running.

“I was just thinking, ‘I hope he doesn’t trip and get a scrape in a nasty spot from all those rocks.'”

She clarified that he was “absolutely completely naked” apart from his bag.

Another anonymous witness who also took a photo said he “thought I was dreaming.”

“He was wearing a fanny pack but nothing else.

He ran past two men. He then hid behind a wall when he saw an Asda van driving down a farm driveway.’

The 46-year-old told the Derby Telegraph: “It’s wrong because a child could see him. He seemed quite proud of it.

“Since the lockdown it’s gotten so busy that more and more people are going out for everyone to see.”

At the time, the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust – which runs the site – said: ‘This type of behavior is disorderly and anyone who sees it happening should contact the police.’

Yesterday’s sighting sparked a debate over whether the jogger was actually doing something wrong.

A member of the Facebook group wrote that people who saw him would have been “upset by seeing this,” adding, “I would be too, it’s not right and disturbing.”

But one female member replied that “there’s a huge difference between nudism and flashing.”

She added: “It’s probably a more serious matter that someone has taken nude photos of someone seemingly without permission and uploaded them on social media.”

A dramatic wooded sandstone escarpment overlooking Cheshire, Alderley Edge shares its name with the neighboring village whose sought-after streets are home to top footballers including Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand.

Cheshire Police were approached for comment.
