A beauty enthusiast who went to get her nails done at a salon was disappointed with what she received.

mulanana, who has more than 1.3 million followers on TikTok, paid GBP 45 ($78 AUD) for a simple set of off-white acrylic nails, but was stunned by how badly they turned out.

The short ‘expectations vs reality’ video quickly caught the attention of the masses on TikTok, with many saying the nails looked like ‘toothpaste’ or ‘baking soda’.

‘I would have left,’ commented one person, another asked: ‘You didn’t pay, did you?’

A third said, “This is what my nails look like when I try to do them myself.”

‘I don’t understand why people don’t talk. It is unfortunate that they teach us to be more polite than to say what we feel,” added another.

The video has been viewed more than 3.8 million times and has received more than 480,000 likes.
