Nadiya Bychkova has spoken about the difficulties of having a family still living in war-torn Ukraine.

The 33-year-old professional dancer admitted she constantly worries whether her country home is okay, recalling years ago that she “had a bomb in our living room.”

Although she now lives in the UK, she hails from the Ukrainian city of Luhansk and said her family has been fighting the conflict since 2014, with many having to flee.

Nadiya admitted that it is a difficult time for her and the world right now, noting how the conflict had become a global issue.

speaking to SunHe shared that his grandmother still resides in the Ukraine and that the house still has no heat or electricity more than “once or twice a day for an hour.”

Noting her concern, the dancer continued, “Since 2014, I’ve been checking on YouTube, ‘Is our house okay?’ We had a bomb right in the living room.

Fighting: “These are scary times and of course it’s hard, but it really helps that the world knows now, it helps so many people,” he concluded.

‘My grandmother’s house we had to fix up, and now all the bombing has started again.’

The Russo-Ukrainian war has been ongoing between Russia and Ukraine since February 2014.

Nadiya went on to say that she has relatives who “were almost killed” fleeing the conflict, but are now safe.

Her mother, Larisa, returned to Ukraine late last year to visit her grandmother, and the star revealed that it took her three days to get there.

Nadiya told the panel: “It took some time because it wasn’t easy, you protect your son as much as you can, but he’s brilliant.”

The dancer shares her daughter Mila with her ex-fiancé, the Slovenian footballer Matija Škarabot, from whom she separated at the beginning of 2021.
