Mystery of woman in field romp deepens as Prince Harry’s old flames deny they took his virginity

A number of women have been quick to deny taking Prince Harry’s virginity after he caused tongues to run with a grisly account of a field date in his explosive memoir.

Former model Suzannah Harvey, 44, and interior designer Catherine Ommanney, 51, have joined Liz Hurley in ruling themselves out as the Duke of Sussex’s first mistress.

In his book Spare, Harry revealed that he lost his virginity to a horse-loving older woman behind a busy pub, believed to be the Rattlebone Inn in Wiltshire, at the age of 17 in 2001.

Describing the moment in the English edition, he said he felt like a “young stallion,” adding: “Fast ride, after which she smacked me on the rump and sent me out to pasture.”

Miss Harvey has sought to distance herself from the brief encounter after previously admitting to ‘passionately kissing’ the prince in a muddy field as a 23-year-old after a Yule Ball earlier that year.

Posting a photo of herself with a pack of Ginger Nuts on Instagram, Miss Harvey, who is six years his senior, wrote: “The only ones I’ve touched… don’t believe anything you read.”

Miss Ommanney, who dated Harry when she was 34 and he was 21, also denied being the woman in question, adding that he was “clearly” an experienced lover when they got together in 2006.

Her ex-lover said she hated horses and was “definitely not that girl in the country.”

As the search for the mystery woman continues, rumors swirl around Emma Wood, née Tomlinson, an equine veterinarian and polo coach ten years his senior.

The 48-year-old, now married, has known Harry for decades because her family were neighbors and good friends with his father Charles on his Highgrove estate.

The Tomlinsons ran the nearby Beaufort Polo Club, where their late mother Claire, one of the best players in the world, coached Harry and his brother William.

In his book Spare, Harry revealed that he lost his virginity to a horse-loving older woman behind a busy bar - believed to be the Rattlebone Inn in Wiltshire - at the age of 17 in 2001.

Harry, who spent part of his gap year at the family’s ranch in Argentina, was also close with his brothers Luke and Mark Tomlinson, who were guests at his wedding.

Mrs Wood and her siblings were part of the princes’ close-knit group of friends known as Club H, not H after Harry but because of their meetings at Highgrove House.

A source on the Beaufort Polo Club scene, who knew Ms Wood well, said: “She was very friendly with royalty and princes in particular.” They were always out as part of a social group having a lot of fun all the time.’

The source added: ‘She has an attractive, flirty, lively personality. She’s a country girl and she doesn’t get too hung up on these things.

Referring to Prince Harry’s detailed account of their first time in his book, the source added: “It was a pretty mild escapade by the standards of some of the adventures that have taken place at the Beaufort over the years.” I don’t know why everyone is so shocked and obsessed with it.

Both William and Harry were regulars at the polo club’s lively social scene, which had a reputation among locals as “a high-class meat market”.

Wild parties would see young people heading out to local pubs in the 1990s and early 2000s, including the Rattlebone.

Mrs Wood, who was in her early 20s at the time, and the teenage Harry are said to have been seen drinking together in the 17th-century pub frequently around this time.

A source familiar with the group said: ‘Emma spent every summer with Harry and William. The parties they had at the Beaufort Polo club were crazy.

I have seen with my own eyes the relationship that she and Harry had and it was really very friendly and close. She is a lovely girl, very funny. She was definitely the more dominant of the two.

When approached for comment by the Mail last night, Ms Wood refused to be drawn. Franck Ortet, Rattlebone’s former manager, said he believed the mystery woman was a popular member of the polo team.

Refusing to name names, he said the woman enjoyed rowdy nights in the pub with Harry and William when she was in her 20s.

Mr Ortet added that he believed a field behind Rattlebone, which is surrounded by a stone wall, would have been the “perfect location” for Harry’s brief relationship.

Leaked copies of Spare in Spain drew attention last week with Harry’s seemingly nasty language describing the encounter.

In the Spanish edition, he revealed that he lost his virginity while talking about how a royal attendant had visited him to discuss a possible scandal.

The translated version read: “I suspected she was referring to my recent loss of virginity, a humiliating episode with an older woman who liked male horses and treated me like a young stallion.”

I quickly mounted her, after which she slapped my ass and sent me away. In fact, the aide had been sent on a claim of drug use that was dismissed as “lies.” But an English version of the book makes it clear that Harry was using a light-hearted jovial metaphor referring to a ‘quick ride’ and the ‘rump’ of it.
