Mystery as woman dies after jumping out of Uber onto busy NYC highway

A 32-year-old woman died early Saturday morning after jumping out of a moving Uber on a busy New York City freeway.

Priyanka Sewhani fell to her death from the backseat of a 2019 Volkswagen Passat traveling eastbound on the Long Island Expressway about 1:40 a.m.

Police said a 45-year-old man was driving the Uber, and that a second vehicle traveling eastbound “unknowingly” struck Sewhani after she fell, and “did not remain at the scene.”

The NYPD told DailyMail.com officers have not yet determined a motive for the jump. ‘The investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made,” a spokesperson said.

Medics responded and pronounced Sewhani, of Westview Drive in Oyster Bay, Long Island, dead on the highway.

The Uber driver remained at the scene and was not injured.

It comes after a YouTuber who posts videos of himself reaching top speeds in his BMW X5 died earlier this month after his car rolled over on a New York City motorway.

Andre Beadle, known online as 1Stockf30, was killed on November 5 when his car crashed into an Acura and overturned on a Queens freeway outside JFK Airport.

Beadle, 25, of the Bronx, was driving “at a high rate of speed” when he lost control of the vehicle, left the road and crashed, NYPD told DailyMail.com.

He was thrown from the luxury vehicle and his body was found on the ground by emergency workers. He was transported to a nearby hospital but could not be saved.

Beadle’s 21-year-old passenger was injured but survived. The driver of the Acura was not injured in the incident.

The accident is still under investigation, but witnesses say it happened during a street race. The mirror reported.

A balloon release memorial will be held in a Bronx park Friday afternoon in honor of the auto influencer.

Video of his final race is circulating on social media after being shared by heartbroken witnesses.

Beadle’s BMW is seen pulling away at the start of the race, only to be engulfed by a cloud of smoke seconds later.

Images taken at the scene of the crash show piles of burning debris scattered across the highway.
