Mystery as University of Missouri student, 22, vanishes after ‘getting kicked out of bar in Nashville’ as eerie CCTV footage shows him stumbling along street

Police have released surveillance images of a Missouri student’s last known movements before he went missing during a pub crawl four days ago.

Riley Strain, 22, was last seen Friday evening at Luke’s 32 Bridge Food + Drink on Broadway, according to Metropolitan Nashville police.

The University of Missouri Delta Chi fraternity member had traveled to Tennessee on a group trip for their annual spring formal.

His friends told local media that they last saw him around 10pm local time, after he was kicked out of the bar for unknown reasons.

Metro Nashville police told DailyMail.com that his last movements on surveillance footage occurred on Gay Street, close to the Cumberland River.

The department later released a 44-second clip showing him walking across the street in a two-tone shirt, stumbling and appearing confused.

Police deployed a helicopter to search downtown Nashville, including the riverfront.

Riley’s stepfather Christopher Whiteid said he told his fraternity brothers he was on his way back to their hotel when he left the bar.

However, he never returned and his concerned friends were unable to find him via his Snapchat location, with their calls going to voicemail.

They reported him missing on Saturday and authorities launched a search.

His last cellphone location was recorded between Gay Street and James Robertson Parkway, close to the bar where he was last seen. WKRN-TV.

Police have tried to locate his phone but have done nothing, while they have also checked local hospitals and prisons.

His stepfather said surveillance footage indicated he may have taken a wrong turn on the way back to the hotel.

Riley’s mother Michelle Whiteid said he is “a great kid” and normally “very communicative.”

“We miss him and we want him back so badly,” she told WKRN-TV.

“He’s always texting me, calling me, Facetimeting me,” she added. ‘He is always in contact with me. He is very communicative.’

Photos of the missing student have been shared widely on social media.

Riley has been missing since Friday evening and his concerned friends and family have shared photos of him on social media in the hope that someone with information will come forward.

In a call for information on Riley’s whereabouts, Nashville Metro Police described him as “6 feet tall, with a thin build, blue eyes and light brown hair.”

The University of Missouri released a statement saying they have “been in contact with the family and authorities in Nashville” who are working to find the student.

“The safety of our community is our top priority,” said Angela King Taylor, interim vice chancellor for Student Affairs.

“Our thoughts are with Riley’s family as the search continues. We will provide them with all the support we can, and we encourage anyone who needs help to reach out to our counseling resources.”
