Supporters of Donald Trump say they suffered mysterious eye injuries after sitting behind him at his rally in Tucson last week.
The event was billed as an opportunity to address the rising cost-of-living crisis, and Trump unveiled a populist new policy, promising to end overtime taxes.
Now at least six people sitting on stage behind the former president say they are experiencing irritation in their eyes and need medical attention.
Mayra Rodriguez, a former Clinton supporter, now a Trump fan and pro-life advocate, said her “eyes were burning” when she left the rally and went to the emergency room shortly after returning home from her speech.
“The ER staff, from the triage nurse to the PA, were asking if they were sure they hadn’t been sprayed. Their symptoms were consistent with having been sprayed,” Rodriguez said.

“I can’t see anything when I try to open my eyes. I see a bright light. It hurts, it hurts a lot to open my eyes. I have a cold cloth that I keep putting on and taking off. It’s horrible,” she said.
Rodriguez said her vision started improving on Tuesday and the problem does not appear to be permanent.
However, she became more confused when she heard stories from other people who were present and sitting next to her.
