Mystery as missing Missouri mother who vanished six months ago is finally found

The remains of a missing Missouri mother were found by a homeowner in a wooded area six months after her disappearance.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed medical and dental records indicate that the skeletal remains discovered by a homeowner on Frissell Road in a wooded area on September 28 belonged to Emily Strite.

Strite, 34, went missing from the De Soto area on April 12 and her friends said she was in and out of an abusive relationship with the father of her youngest children, according to Fox 2 Now.

Investigators have not yet determined the mother of four’s cause of death and are trying to learn more about her disappearance.

Police were notified of the human remains by an unknown property owner, the department said in a news release.

Her body showed no signs of foul play, Grant Bissell, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Public Safety Information Coordinator, said. Newsweek.

No one has been arrested in her death or disappearance as of Wednesday.

Her remains were taken to the regional medical examiner’s office, where she was identified, according to Newsweek.

Strike was last seen at a friend’s house on 4th Street, where she was staying. According to the Missing Persons brochure, she left the home on foot. She was reported missing eight days after she was last seen.

The last time McCain spoke to her daughter, she was with her mother. She went home to her three youngest children, who live with their father in Illinois.

However, a week later the children’s father, Steve Fults, called McCain and asked if she had heard from Strite, who he said never told him she was coming to visit her children.

“He never called me and asked me anything about Emily or told me anything about Emily,” McCain said, according to Newsweek. “That’s why I panicked when he called me, because he had never done that before.”

“Everyone comments on her big, beautiful smile,” friend Amanda Bauman told Fox 2 Now. “She literally lit up a room every chance she got.”

‘[She was] A ray of sunshine for everyone, even when you’re not, even when she’s in trouble, she’ll lift you up,” Christie Bauman told the outlet.

The sisters said their friend was a good person, with a big heart, who “took care of everyone.”

“We are praying now that we get answers,” Amanda told Fox 2 Now. “And whoever hurt her will be brought to justice.”
