A frantic search is underway for a missing Goldman Sachs analyst who was last seen leaving a Brooklyn nightclub in the early hours of Sunday.
John Castic, 27, of Chicago, told friends at the Brooklyn Mirage club that he would get an Uber home to his apartment in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
It remains unclear if he ever called or took an Uber, but he never made it home and his friends sounded the alarm on Sunday.
Castic graduated from DePaul University and began working as a senior analyst at Goldman Sachs in August 2022.
Castic and his friends had been to Canadian electronic duo Zeds Dead.
John Castic, 27, was last seen leaving the club in Brooklyn’s Bushwick-Williamsburg neighborhood at 2:30 a.m. on Sunday morning
His latest photo, shared by a friend, shows him arriving at their front door at 9 p.m., before heading to the gig on the outskirts of Brooklyn’s Williamsburg and Bushwick neighborhoods.
His friends say he left the room at 2:30 am.
One person on Reddit claimed that there were masses of unlicensed taxi drivers roaming the area, speculating that Castic could have gotten into one of their vehicles to try and get home.
Police initially refused to raise the alarm, they said, because he had no known mental health problems, but had assigned a detective to the case on Monday night.
On Tuesday, a group of his friends plan to meet outside the club and explore the area.

“One of my best friends, John Castic, has gone missing after the Zeds Dead show Friday night in New York,” his girlfriend Sara Kostecka wrote on Facebook Monday.
“Any information is greatly appreciated, as is sharing it with anyone in NYC who might have seen it.”
Kostecka told Fox News digital she has known Castic for seven years and that he has never been unreachable.
Another friend, Jonah Shales, added that Castic’s phone broke down and has not been used since.
“We’re definitely very concerned about him,” Shales said. “No one has contacted him.”
Castic had been to the Brooklyn Mirage on Saturday night to see a Canadian electronics duo
The location is in the Williamsburg-Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn
Karl Clemente was last seen at Brooklyn Mirage on June 11 and his body was found in a nearby creek on June 16. Police do not believe his death is suspicious, but are investigating
Castic’s disappearance came after another 27-year-old disappeared from the same Brooklyn location.
Karl Clemente was with a group of friends on June 11, hoping to get into the Brooklyn Mirage around 9 p.m., but was turned away by doormen on suspicion of drunkenness.
He left and went to a nearby gas station, where people often wait to get drinks and snacks before calling Ubers or Lyfts home.
He then disappeared.
Clemente’s body was found on June 16 in a creek behind a lumber yard. Police said they did not find his death suspicious, but the investigation is still ongoing.
