MySims, EA’s answer to Animal Crossing, is coming to Nintendo Switch
For the first time, a Sims game is coming to Nintendo Switch — two games, actually. Electronic Arts announced Tuesday during a Nintendo Direct presentation that Nintendo DS and Wii classics MySims And MySims Kingdom will be packaged together with the Nintendo Switch as MySims: Cozy Bundle.
Electronic Arts said in a press release that it has “revamped” the Nintendo Wii and DS controls to work with the Switch’s touch screen and controllers. All textures have also been updated, so the game renders at a higher resolution than it originally did. It’s set for release on November 19.
MySims was originally released in 2007 for the Nintendo DS and Wii systems, with the sequel MySims Kingdom also coming to those platforms in 2008. The games don’t look much like the main franchise simulation games, such as The Sims 4Instead, they look more like Animals crossing And Animal Crossing: Wild Worldwhich were released in 2001 and 2005 respectively.
Basically, Electronic Arts has compressed its Sims into Mii-like, cartoonish people. There’s not a whole lot of farming involved — if any — but it otherwise follows the farming or life simulation blueprint: build a town by constructing homes and businesses, gathering resources and helping the residents. MySims Kingdom gives a medieval twist to the gameplay.
